However, all of these pictures were taken in my house, so I could control the lighting a lot more than in the world. This is ideal if you want to get a nice portrait of your character. The third is with the character facing totally at the light with the background in shadow. Half light looks more mysterious and emotive.) (Actually this type of picture can be good if you’re using it to tell a story or for an RP picture. This looks pretty good and is usable as a picture. The second is in half light with a light to the left. The first picture is with her back to the light. These pictures were taken to kind of demonstrate how important lighting is, these are all at night which makes it slightly harder to capture a nice picture. This is especially important if you are using Reshade as that adds a lot more depth to the lighting.
When taking screenshots, especially of your character/NPC’s you need to face into light somewhat or you’ll end up with too many shadows and it’ll look a mess. Since patch 1.2 ESO has used ambient lighting, this means light comes from actual light sources and not just… around. Now you’re ready to start taking screenshots! This will allow you to move your camera around your character (not freely, you’ll still be anchored to your character). With the Screenshot helper, once you’ve toggled the UI off, you can use the arrow keys to move the camera and the page up and page down buttons to change the field of view. Otherwise you’ll have to log in and log out (which takes to long, so don’t do that). Which is easily fixed, just go into your Add-On menu (ESC > Add-Ons) then uncheck one of your addons and recheck it then the reloadui button will appear, reload and then the chat will work again. If you do start trying to type, then you’ll break your chat. So if you want your character to emote you need to toggle the UI on, then toggle it off and take the screenshot.
Just a side note… When your UI is off you can’t use the chat. You can find your Keybindings by hitting ESC > Controls > Keybindings > User Interface > UI On/Off Secondly, make a keybind for your UI toggle. Normally the path is Documents > Elder Scrolls Online > Live > AddOns (Just unzip the folder and pop it in.) Once downloaded add the file into your AddOns file in your ESO folder. You can hit the console, type TFC 1 and there you go, you’re free to do whatever you like. With a game like Skyrim you have a lot more control for taking pictures.
